What part? Cuz south florida is ghost right now, broward got over 50 new cases confirmed TODAY and they shut down lauderdale beach, dade county doing the same soon, I cant get into the nursing home to see my gramps, shyt real out here

I'm in the Tampa and haven't noticed anything but I'm not hitting up retirement communities or anything. Wen tto the beach today and there were a shytload of people, though probably not as many as normal

Do y’all really think that America is so special that we won’t end up seeing infection rates like these other major countries?

is it just that notion of “everything will work our okay” that Americans seem to have?

Like...how can anyone look at the world around them right now and think we are going to be exempt from the nightmare that other places (that have been doing more than us to stop the spread mind you) have been experiencing?

I saw an interview on my flight this morning on one of the morning shows with the former cdc official and he had the most sensible take about this shyt than anyone I've seen so far.

The fact of the matter is this is a new virus and people are making all these predictions but based on lack of history to look at and again, lack of testing no one can give you anything more than their guess what the future holds. The predictions, both good and bad are just that predictions or guesses.

I'll see if I can find the interview to share because I feel he did a good job not to give into hysteria but also emphasize that this is new territory for society as a whole.

I don’t wanna be incorrect. I go to DC a lot to do mma/bjj stuff. A guy I train with up there works at the pentagon and texted me about 2 hours ago to be on the watch for an executive order within 2-3 days of a mandatory quarantine.

he could be totally wrong. I don’t know him as well as my epidemiologist friend I’ve referenced in here. But I do know there’s no reason to expect we wouldn’t have one at some point, since Italy had to do it.

and my pal says obviously the language probably won’t be that harsh at first. He said don’t expect it to be called martial law, but that it’s essentially what it could turn into. And he said expect it to be worded in a way that allows for it to be extended if necessary. .
