Teacher shortages are throwing some schools into crisis. "I'm going into classrooms where the students have never had an assigned credentialed teacher and we're at the start of the second semester," one L.A. sub said.
NPR Cookie Consent and Choices

:snoop:
"But just having an adult in every classroom is not the same as having a teacher in the classroom, Watson said.

"That doesn't mean that students are actually going to learn anything. It just means they have a babysitter," she said."

Unfortunately, that's all that a lot of parents care about. It's in- school learning or bust regardless of the quality of education they're getting

hopefully we are near the end of all of this, at the same time am wondering, barring any other variants, what does life going back to normal even look like (being semi dramatic I know)

More Union Uprisings
Less Medical Personal from Death/Burnout
More 'Snake Oil' Salespeople as they see how people are drinking Piss or Horse De-Wormer; so like for Dieting, and other Medical Ailments.

The big one though I see from this, is the Death of the Workplace. New York especially, as you look at the Empire State Building or Trade Center, buildings with offices. With cloud technology, and mobile hotspots, you really don't need to be working in a office.

Now there could be a re-invention or a sort of 'rental space' to meet in person, but really I think as the next EPIC that will take place over 25 years, will be decline of Office Space itself.

I agree, I see the same

-alot more people willing to leave their jobs now if they are not happy with how they are being treated

-more employers offering remote as an incentive

-smaller at first (think charter) type school doing hybrid on the regular

-more people getting into prepping/self sufficiency

Also I somehow some way would like to think overall our medical system comes out better prepared to deal with a pandemic in the future

On the last wish, it would need to start from your CDC, so I hope they can get through this:

Walensky faces CDC burnout as pandemic enters third year

cdc needs to rethink there communication (with the public) strategy, I know getting word out on things asap is important but they put out alot of information that most Americans tooks as contradictory. Also they need to realize that the average American is dumb as shyt and they need shorter releases with more pictures (not even joking)
