So, two weeks into the "re-opening" of my office with the COVID-19 safety and protocols.

Just fukking dead. Barely anyone has come back yet, they are still mostly working off-site.

They are trying to push them, in order to see how Hybrid working will go but the problem that I see is this...

When we were asked back in March 2020 to go off-site, they told us to take everything from our desks. This included monitors (this was allowed), the notebook docking stations, everything. So the company hasn't yet re-designed or brought in new equipment because I guess they believed they would bring back those items... when at the same time, they would still be allowed to use them at home.

Ultimately this will take a year or two to nail down, but yeah, the Office is going to change big time from what I see already.

Meh, last time I went in, took me 30 mins to get on the LAN as they had installed a new Certificate Authority for authentication.

I dunno when I will be heading back. Not when you can roll out of bed, turn everything on, and it just works.

Just completed our 2nd week of the office being re-opened. We've got new paint, desks re-arranged a bit, a lot of clean up from March 2020. Some people who left the organization stopped by to pickup their things.

So far, my team (there's 5 of us including our boss) are coming in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I came in on Thursday last week too to bring some packages in I had at home. What I've noticed is we might have like half of the office in on Wednesdays as that's when HR is catering free lunch to us. Tuesdays and Thursdays have very limited amount of folks... maybe 20 total and we have the whole 2nd floor of the building which in normal times had 60 people in there.

There are many people who just won't come in... it looks like.

My boss thinks its a bit suspicious if you're never ever gonna come back in... :mjlol:

I don't go in on Friday, Thursday I am debating.

Mon through Wednesday it used to be 8-5pm, now I am home at 2pm, and working the rest of the day. I have to say though, being home at that time allows me some freedom that i've been having during this Pandemic.

Mondays are rough, as long as I'm at this company, I ain't going in :pachaha:

Fridays as well..

Due to DELTA, they've said coming in is 'voluntary'. They know they can't force people in... especially if they're still doing their work per usual.

Depending on the week, Thursday I may go in but right now the day that I did go in had barely any folk in there.

I've also noticed when it rains, there's less people in. So, this winter will be interesting.

But being home 3 days a week, I value the freedom even more. Especially with this fall looking to be mad busy.
