Folks understand that at those levels a vaccine really won't be a magic bullet right? They understand that you need to bring those numbers under control first, right?

Right?

Right?

:jbhmm:

isn’t the Pfizer vaccine only effective in those who have never had a prior infection

i wonder how having this level of widespread infections will impact the vaccines effectiveness on a population

There doesn't seem to be enough political capital in the world to close schools down right now. Every politician is shirking responsibility, and leaving it up to superintendents who have no real choice other than to abide by what the community wants. I teach in a wealthy, very liberal part of the country and hardly any parents want their kids home any longer. They have the option of fully remote learning and its maybe one or two kids per class. None of the kids want school to close, either.

It's good to see some politicians taking the lead on this, though. Hopefully that trend will continue.
My Democratic Governor said just the other day that school is the safest place for kids right now :comeon:
:lupe: Damn. Yall need to primary him with a Progressive. My governor:

Gov. Tom Wolf Vetoes Bill On Loosening Coronavirus Restrictions At Restaurants, Bars – CBS Pittsburgh

Gov. Wolf Outlines Plans to Create Commonwealth Civilian Coronavirus Corps to Support Fall COVID-19 Recovery Efforts

Philly schools never opened back up. Still even with better measures we're getting a surge just like everyone else.:sadcam: This shyt feels everlasting. People dont seem to be doing enough to not make this the new normal

American culture just isn’t suited to being disciplined. Pretty much the opposite.
