If you can do it without serious financial repercussions, do it! fukk I wish I could. Do it for us breh.

All joking aside. It's a great idea man.

Yeah, my Mom doesn't want her Mom to risk infection, she's 90. I don't want to lose money, I can take a month, two, off, but I am losing significant income, and incurring costs in the meanwhile. I'll ask her seriously, and see what her take is. Maybe I am being paranoid, reading NY Times and watching local press conference all day. There's an entire population who knows about these things, but isn't concerned at all. I wish for that ignorance. Sometimes.

DONALD TRUMP IS SCUM!!! :pacspit:

If this is true this has to be some type of serious felony, right?

I mean I have stayed away from Trump Derangement Syndrome, but this has to be some sort of massive crime against your own people. If we had troops overseas and withheld testing for them after a biological weapon attack, certainly that would be considered a war crime, right? How is this much different? If anything it's arguably worse.

Out of all the evil stuff this dude has done, if this is true, this tops ALL of it.

This is bullshyt man. This virus almost exclusively affects old as fukk people. It's getting ridiculous
False.

It affects a ton of younger people between 20-49 as well. Old people are the most likely to have serious health complications and die, but a 25 year old dude I know that got it said it felt like he was being drowned while burning alive with fever for 2 days straight (he was sick for 3 weeks but said the were the worst 2 days).

You do NOT want to get sick with this stuff. It's terrible shyt. Sure, most young and healthy people will have mild to moderate symptoms, or maybe even no symptoms.

But do you really want to spread an infectious contagion to older people in your life? Your family and friends' older family members? Society at large?

We have an ethical obligation to act in the best interests of society. If that means we cannot go to some sporting events this year, or if we have to reschedule a vacation or something, it is what it is. There are more important things in life.

I feel bad in a way but I called my mom yesterday and she answers all happy. Not a care in the world. I ask if she has toilet paper. She's like no why? I'm like mom haven't you been paying attention I said there's none in the stores right now. So my dad heads to 3 different stores finds none. I call her a little early to tell her my job is shut down for at least a week. And she starts tripping.

:snoop:

Just yesterday she was like ain't nothing wrong.

Now she :mindblown:

Ignorance is bliss. :lawd:

It was just 3 two days ago :why:
3 Confirmed breh. Testing is super low right now. There were actually way more than three cases 2 days ago. We just don't know the number, but it could easily be in the hundreds if not thousands.

This shyt is exponential. Each person can expect to infect 3-6 other people. The math on that adds up quick. Let's say my neighbor has it. That person at a minimum causes 3 other infections. Those 3 new people give it to 9. Those 9 give it to 27. Those 27 give it to 81. Those 81 give it to 243. Those 243 give it to 729. Those 729 give it to 2,187....

Then 6,561...19,683...59,049...177,147...

And obviously some of those people will die before spreading, but still.

It doesn't take long. That's why some of these measures that seem extreme should've been done way before now.

:damn:

You have anything more than anecdotes? I didn't say that younger people can't catch it, I said that older people are the ones who will get serious complications. There's a good chance you have it right now without even knowing it. Also you're minimizing to cost to all this, we aren't just cancelling vacations ,the economy is being wrecked. Hopefully it will recover once this is all over, all im saying is there is a trade-off

I haven't seen any evidence that people with heart issues are at higher risk--from what we know about the current sample it's usually people with respiratory problems. But I don't deny Americans are unhealthy

Hospitals being overwhelmed is connected to the fatality rate being overhyped though. People are scared. Example of this media bullshyt is blasting alerts like TOM HANKS has Corona. Who gives a fukk? He'll have a cold for a few days and that'll be it. It's all psychological. The running death count is not helping. Not saying this info shouldn't be out there, but my issue is with the way it's being presented. The fact that this virus is coming from a foreign country also plays a huge role IMO
You make some good points but I disagree a few places too. The stuff I bolded is spot on.

The issue about hospitals being overwhelmed is not overhyped. I have 1 friend in the CDC and another in the private sector working for a task-force to fight this virus. Both of them were talking to me on the phone back in February, and hospital beds is one of the first big things they were worried about. These are smart, qualified guys with important jobs.

There's a direct link between beds and the fatality rate. When we run out of the ability to give people external ventilation, the amount of lives that we can save drastically reduces. That's why it's crucial for everyone to do their best (especially younger people) to try to be self-reliant in the coming months, and try to not bog down our health care system unless they really need to get help. Ie. if you have a head cold, tough it out and treat the symptoms. And even if you get flu-symptoms, self quarantine and self-treat until you experience more serious symptoms.
