Trump gotta be one of the most incompetent presidents ever.

First crisis, and he is failing miserably. Failed to instill comfort and confidence last night and he had a head start to prevent the impact of this but didnt take it seriously until it got here. Now I just saw that in his attempts to wipe out the Obama legacy, he wiped cdc first response unit in foreign countries who could have at least helped a bit in the spread or properly prepared us.

That bullshyt Bannon was talkin about with the end of the administrative state with the Trump presidency..... this is what u need federal government for and this is why we pay taxes to help prevent bullshyt like this.

Now personally, I work for a federal government agency and the people he appointed to lead the agency since he has been elected have been fighting with our unions to take away telework or work from home. I will admit to be fair, they set a higher standard and fired some people who weren't productive and our numbers improved.

The entire agency has been productive numbers wise and they reward us by taking away telework for half of us. My job has very minimal contact with the public and it was mindblowing why they wanted to take work at home from us. Their reasoning at arbitration was basically because we want to and we can.

My specific union fought them and won in arbitration when they tried to reduce our telework days but the support staff got screwed and they were reduced to one telework day every two weeks

Then this crisis hits and they have been strangely silent regarding telework. It makes no sense why they dont reinstate telework for the support staff other than pride. They are just waiting for someone to get sick in the office and infect others and then they are going to bring back telework

Just incompetence from top to bottom from this administration.

Same here. I work for a federal agency and last week we did some telework prep with VPN's and some new system software so we thought they'd be telling us to stay home but nope. We had a meeting yesterday and the Director was talking about what the building is doing to keep the place clean and sanitary. Then someone asked what are we in this office doing specifically, are we wiping down doorknobs, sanitizing the coffee machines etc, this fool looks around and says, yeah I guess we should talk about what our plan is for this in house. Complete incompetence and they only reason they wont let us work from home is because they want to micromanage us. Then you got some people who been here 100 years and its the only thing they having going on in their life who prefer to come into the office. Let the young able folks work from home and let these older, work is my only outside activity folks come in if they want too. No direction, no suggestions and actually put a sign up in the bathroom saying you can wash your hands with cool water because the hot water has been out for months. Sheer incompetence from the top down.

Coronavirus patients may be contagious for weeks longer than first thought, study says
BY CHARLES DUNCAN

MARCH 12, 2020 10:00 AM coronavirus could be contagious for a lot longer than the two-week quarantine period that many countries are using, a new study says.

  • Researchers looking at cases in China say patients could spread the virus for up to 37 days after they start showing symptoms, according to the study published in the British medical journal The Lancet.

On average, survivors still had the virus in their respiratory system for about 20 days and could presumably continue to spread the disease, researchers found.
“The shortest observed duration of viral shedding among survivors was 8 days, whereas the longest was 37 days,” the researchers said.

Only three of our banks and their branch offices around the country have went into mandatory telecommute along with other random people across the system working from home and it's put a noticeable strain on our remote infrastructure. Its going to be ugly when over 50% of the system moves to telecommute.

Iranian authorities began digging a pair of trenches for victims just days after the government disclosed the initial outbreak. Together, their lengths are that of a football field.

Just a small reminder, our sanctions against them has wrecked their healthcare system.

Just remember that when you blindly support or stay mum in sanctions against these nations.
