But with that said @Walt not hopping a thread to shyt on Mr. West :ohhh:

:mjpls:

Sharpton has been a buffoon since his inception. And there's no doubt he has been funded by conservatives at different times in his life. Neither one of these doofuses are worth anyone's time. The complete and utter erosion of black leadership and black intellectuals is one of the most depressing things in the world for me, personally. It's remarkably horrific to watch TV and see - from hard news to sports - the talking heads who represent "the black community." If you're black and don't have moments where you look to the heavens in frustrated confusion like "how can this be?" then more power to you, I guess.

Not you specifically, the general you of course.

I'm not a Hillary supporter. Never understood why people here put positions and statements in other poster's mouths.

You know full well you are a Hilary supporter. Whomever your masters of the democratic party plantation tell you to support, you will do doubt fall in line like a good little democrat. Stop acting as if you have the capacity to think for yourself.

Which is why I never took sides in any of these dumb West/Sharpton/Harris-Perry/Smiley Obama threads.

Even if there's a salient point to be made, it's not even worth the hassle of fighting off the stream of hyper-aggressive idiot posters like @Hiphoplives4eva with hair triggers, ready to misinterpret or jump to conclusions about what you said.

I always thought that perhaps one of the reasons Hip Hop artists are subject to as much scrutiny as they are is because there was no transition from the black leadership of the past eras to the present. So of course people look at the most visible individuals and hold them to the fire. At the same time, I imagine it's not as easy for any group of black intellectuals to garner the attention of the entire community. People are no longer as united in their strife or as connected to one another. You get people like Sharpton or Jackson who are able to channel the most visceral emotions of the community (if it is that) often for their own self gain, but they do little in the way of shaping the discourse of bringing about any sort of change. They carry so much baggage that their presence actually takes away from whatever good they may intend to do. The current spat between Sharpton and West just makes them look like children. It is the exactly the type of repeated personal back and forth between two black "leaders" that are supposedly on the same ideological plane, that would not have happened in the past.

I'm more disappointed in West simply because he's intelligent enough to produces works that are worth discussing on television.

If you don't wanna use "house negro" fine. But bottom line he agrees with whatever the president says. Even on Syria. If this was Bush trying to get in this, we know what he would be saying.
show me proof he supports barack's plan on syria...
