I don't think I've seen that posted in the news. Don Lemmon had an 'unidentified' family member make that claim as did breitbart and the daily caller not the most reputable sources. To compare his reportage on police brutality and work with BLM is just a false equivalence.

Who writes a confused thesis about whether or not he's black? It's yes or no. He's white end of discussion.

Cacs gonna run with this :mjcry:

SMH.

Black people should stop following the story and supporting the family.

If he doesn't want our support...he shouldn't get it.

I'm so sick of us not *getting it*.

But he's married to a white bytch, so I guess this is expected.

What is taking y'all so long to sticky this? Showing y'all true colors I see. Black folks is the only reason this site is around. We demand this shyt to be stickied

Honestly, after that news conference, I don't want the thread stickied.

They turned on us, after BLACK people, not ALL people, were the ones that made this a national story...he comes out with that type of nonsense? I'm sorry that the guy died, but this story no longer has any tactical use for us as black people....

The angle the police will take is:

The officer approached a broken down car since there had been a rash of burglaries. Unknowingly startling Corey, a young man with a licensed firearm.

Corey thought it was an ambush and brandished the weapon hoping to scare the ambushes away.

The officer seeing the weapon went into "fear for his life" mode. Thus justifying him shooting Corey, even as Corey fled.

An accident. Sad but really the only angle they have. Unless they're just like fukk it.

Unfortunately the officer may get off because of this loop hole. At worst he can get charged with negligence for failing to identify himself.

Wait, he chose accomodating p*ssy over real talk regarding his brother's murder?

He may not see color - but that's irrelevant when the guy who killed his brother did. Instead of going with that should have just mentioned justice and not been baited into any color talk by white folks who seek absolution for themselves when shyt like this happens.

I'd bet that if every white male was given opportunity to murder a black person without repercussions, that a large percentage of them would do it without hesitation.

Put a blue uniform on them and that number jumps to 100%.

So here is the question. Will there be a point where people realize repercussions must happen?

Which is why I don't understand when it comes to solutions, no one ever brings up separation. We can't live among these people and be safe. They're black America's #1 threat. Every walk of life where they control, we face MASSIVE oppression. We need to treat them the same way the US treats Al Queda and ISIS.

Unfortunately most of us are just in love with white people. I've had a black person tell me they wouldn't want to live in a neighborhood where there's no white people :snoop:

Some basic demands for reform should include off-duty officers being legally treated as civilians.

The Police Officer's Bill of Rights never gets discussed when it comes to police brutality. They literally have a separate set of laws that protects them from prosecution when they harm us. On top of that Obama signed more legislation to protect them a few months ago:

I know that he writes for daily kos specifically focusing on police brutality. He addressed his heritage on the site. Whatever his background is (he says biracial) that shouldn't invalidate his opinion on this crime or any of his valuable work....right?

You don't take issues with a white man pretending to be black and speaking on black issues? Why would we allow our enemies to pretend to "be down for the cause"? We is he being deceptive about his race and background when there's been plenty of white people open about their race and addressing the issue.

This might be the worst Police Negligence case this year. Like the more I think about it, the worst it gets. This officer really needs jail time, or else something severe needs to happen. In a pro gun state like Florida, in which Conservatives down there always make it a point to normalize freely carrying weapons, there's no way a plain clothes officer should get away with approaching a law abiding man with a legal weapon in a broken down car and killing him. There's no angle any White, pro-gun, American can use to defend this cop. The NRA should be just as angry as Black folks are.

White pro gun advocates and the NRA will defend the cop. Why? Because gun laws were made specifically to disarm black people. We were never supposed to have guns to begin with. When the 2nd amendment was created, we were enslaved. It's why black people have always been disproportionately denied concealed carry permits. And the NRA was an advocate for gun legislation when the Panthers showed up at the courthouse armed in 1970. They've never advocated black gun ownership because the laws don't apply to us.

If a white person approaches you for any reason you need to understand your life is in danger.
They are your enemy.
They have nothing good to say or offer.

Any interaction they implement is either a trap or a ploy to rob you of peace, dignity, or life.

Still doesn't make sense, if he was already brandishing the weapon he would fired upon the officer before he could pull out his gun
