Saw Corey live twice just last year (San Jose, San Diego).
Wrote about it previously but Corey is funny funny, like a legitimately thoughtful and funny dude, not just "comedian" funny. His brain is all over the place, not focused, no system or structure, and he's smart enough to understand that but not disciplined enough to fix it.
It is what it is, but Donnell isn't in the same conversation as Corey.
Said this in 2019. Donnell has been funnier than Chappelle these past 5/6 years easily.
When I saw corey it was like 2014/15 ish. He was doing voices on TV and on black Jesus l, so to me he was coming up. I thought he was going to fill the void that was missing when Patrice passed. He was ok. He didn't suck but i wasn't blown away.
When i saw darnell the first time i thought he was on some side kick, I'm only here because I'm good friends with Chappelle. But he carried his own weight. Like a rapper in a group or an entourage, you're thinking, he's a weed carrier, then dude drops a verse and you're like "ok, he can really do this shyt!". He can easily stand on his own two feet.
I understand and accept people will be skeptical or indifferent. Maybe the 2 times I saw him he was having the greatest shows of his career.

I think Corey is one of the most naturally funny comedians out there. 5150 is a must watch for me but Damn is he bitter and burns so many bridges.

I’ve seen them both live multiple times for over a decade. Dave’s last couple of specials have been mid. His live shows have been hit and miss recently.Oh God
He’s either ranting for an hour and passing it off as comedy, or he’s spending half of his set hitting his knee with his mic. I clearly said back then Dave is still the GOAT and that hasn’t changed but he needs to go back to telling jokes.
You can still be philosophical AND funny. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. Something Dave has forgotten ever since he’s leaned into this “comedy crusader” persona.

Then I got older and saw theres thorough people from everywhere and lames from everywhere too. I just went to watch a few clips of his standup,and needless to say I barely cracked a smile.
He may be funny,but theres a reason I havent seen many clips posted in this thread. Just a bunch of people saying they saw him at a show and he was legendary. Chances are you guys had a little too much to drink,or Chapelle had an off night
