Facts. I saw Donnell open for Chappelle and those unfamiliar with comedy might've thought he was a weed carrier or just clinging to his best friend or some shyt. Donnell killed it for 30 straight minutes. I don't mean a couple laughs here or there and some jokes that hit, didn't hit, hit. Homeboy was primetime level. People were dying laughing. Dude got the biggest applause when he was done and introduced Chappelle. Chappelle was great but even walking out people were saying Donnell Rawlings killed it. If you get a chance to see Donnell solo or headlining, do that shyt.

Same here. Saw him open up for Chappelle like 8 or 9 yrs ago and he killed it. People trying to clown his stand up skills is crazy to me.

Donnell is way funnier than Corey on stage and in projects, and it’s not close. Corey is stuck on the chitlin circuit for a reason. His shtick of being ignorant and disrespectful is some early 2000s sh*t.

He can’t evolve because he’s bitter and angry and needs an outlet to express it.
I’ve seen Corey live 3 times, it’s all variants of the Shaq all stars roast

Funny shyt, don’t get me wrong, but he hasn’t evolved at all.

Corey never had me gasping for air crying laughing.

Donnell has.

Donnell is funny in every interview he's in.

Corey just talks shyt constantly when not doing standup and doesn't make me laugh or even wanna pay attention.

They weren't cheap laughs (fart jokes, puns, one liners) and they weren't deep laughs (stories, shyt that makes you think, has a deep meaning or double meaning). But they were right in the middle, just solid laughs. He did a full set. I remember thinking "ok, he's just going to warm us up, get a few laughs then bring Dave out" and I remember looking at my watch and he was 20 mins in and he did about 30 more minutes.

With comedy shows for big acts you never know. I've seen people do a full set. Then I've seen people come out and do 10 mins then bring the guy on, but when it was all said and done Donnell easily did 40-50 mins. And i wished I had just enjoyed it and been fully present. I was laughing and enjoying but peeking at my watch like "ok, that got a big laugh, he's probably going to walk off now."
