Same here. Saw him open up for Chappelle like 8 or 9 yrs ago and he killed it. People trying to clown his stand up skills is crazy to me.
They weren't cheap laughs (fart jokes, puns, one liners) and they weren't deep laughs (stories, shyt that makes you think, has a deep meaning or double meaning). But they were right in the middle, just solid laughs. He did a full set. I remember thinking "ok, he's just going to warm us up, get a few laughs then bring Dave out" and I remember looking at my watch and he was 20 mins in and he did about 30 more minutes.
With comedy shows for big acts you never know. I've seen people do a full set. Then I've seen people come out and do 10 mins then bring the guy on, but when it was all said and done Donnell easily did 40-50 mins. And i wished I had just enjoyed it and been fully present. I was laughing and enjoying but peeking at my watch like "ok, that got a big laugh, he's probably going to walk off now."
