the MOST important part of the story is that the cop lied on the police report.

He claimed the dude assaulted him and he used his weapon as self defense. Ski mask or not, that type of behavior should be immediate termination and should result in realasing every criminal that was arrested by this officer.

Exactly. Even if the ski-mask-wearing kid was actually a criminal/plotting a criminal act, and even if the whole event would be less likely without the ski-mask, this would still be a travesty, because the subject of the cop's suspicion is ultimately irrelevant to the injustice here. At base, it could have been anyone.
