in which New Orleans filmmaker Michael Usry became a suspect in an unsolved murder case after cops did a familial genetic search using semen collected in 1996. The cops searched an Ancestry.com database and got a familial match to a saliva sample Usry’s father had given years earlier.

So even if you dont send in DNA, if your family members do, they will be able to target you, wow...

Right? That's the first thing I thought of when reading this. I'm like oh no all the coli brehs :lupe:
I never trusted it from the beginning, something about sending your DNA just to get the answers to something you already know....seems like a setup.
I'm black and don't need a test like this to dissect my blackness. We gotta stop falling for the okie doke.

:sadcam:
Y'all remember that thread huh. First thing I thought about as well.

I'm a eccentric thinker. I've read that there are people out there immune to HIV, but would likely live unaware. Thought to myself what if I'm one of these dudes with some kind of trick DNA? fukk around and get turned into a test dummy for some cosmetic company.

our complacency is why these types of things happen. It shouldn't be a :manny: thing, something we should look from a serious standpoinnt.

I was in the Navy , the US Government knows everything about me and my family

:manny:

Most black people don't use these services so I ain't worrying, no one is paying $199 for 23andMe or that $99 for Ancestry.com, nikkas is buying other stuff

I already know why they sell the data too, the pharmaceutical companies want that info

Has nothing to do with complacency

You should've stated that :rudy: lol
That's understandable. You made it seem like you sent it in and meh :manny:
