Real smart for North and South to finally link up and go big. This isn't just a one time thing right?

They've only done it for special occasions thus far. It happened in 2016 because of the 100th anniversary of the Copa América, and it's happening this year because it's a prelude to the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Having a joint tournament makes a lot of money for CONMEBOL, so it'll probably happen more often going forward. But I don't think that it's going to become a routine element of the tournament.

No country knows how to commercialize sporting events quite like the US. CONMEBOL is gonna make so much money off Copa America. FIFA will make a lot from the expanded club world cup next year then the World cup in 2026

A merger would never happen because the concacaf side would automatically be stronger with its 30+ members.
