I see a range in outcomes from Shane battier to Scottie Barnes. Which is good, an all star. But the generational part has been more hype than actual analysis

Part of it is we are so desperate for an American savior, let alone a white savior. Bottom line is modern American hoops isn’t conducive to that bc all these dudes are trainer babies learning the same moves. No ingenuity or originality like a Luka or SGA or Jokic. And with Flagg the glaring red flag is he’s only 6’8. He blew up as a prospect as a ‘skilled big’ but then he never grew. So now, to me he looks like a kinda clunky wing. It’s not natural

Jayson Tatum has guard handles at 6’9. Paolo has it at 6’10 250. AJ Dybansta is 6’10. Ace Bailey is 6’9/6’10 and smooth af. I like him as the #1 prospect. So while all these dudes use the same moves, those dudes are size anomalies therefore they’re rare. Flagg is not a size anomaly. His superpower will be defense but the minute he gets to the league teams will have better offensive options. He’s gona be pidgeon holed as a Swiss Army knife type. Good, but not generational

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
I don’t see him being a #1 option on a good team but i can see him being an integral piece to a championship team, if that makes sense.

There's nothing wrong with being a complementary star. Guys like Giannis, Garnett, AD, Bosh, Love always need shot makers like Middleton, SGA, Pierce, LeBron, to achieve the at the highest level.

He has no handle whatsoever, which has been his biggest problem the past few years. He will be a good NBA player, but not sold as a franchise cornerstone yet
It's hilarious how you're unwilling to put forward a straight answer because you're afraid of all your previous player projections coming back to haunt you:

"Dennis Smith Jr. will be a franchise changer"
"James Wiseman will be the next generational big man"
"Jaylen Brown has a Jae Crowder ceiling"
"Luka will be a bust"
"Jokic will be out of the league in a few years"
"Kawhi will never be a #1 option"
"Michael Porter Jr. will be a superstar".

To now where you're hedging your shyt so you don't suffer any recoil. Saying someone will be a good player in the league but you're not convinced they'll be a franchise cornerstone just yet is the most shameless hedge coming from you. Especially since you were just in another thread just the other day shytting on him.

NBA world is yet to see a legit white american franchise superstar since Larry Bird. Guy like Kevin Love was star for a few years or MAGA Hayward showing promises before the injury.....but none of them you could call as guys that could lead your team to a championship as the man.

I don't see Cooper Flag being THAT guy. Duke players are massively overrated and even worse than that several of those turned out to be draft busts.

Including SGA in that is funny, Canadians come up the same way as Americans and SGA's main trainer that developed him is literally American

Including Giannis as ‘complementary star’ is a bannable offense :heh: Might as well add Shaq too

Those examples aside, I get what you’re saying. The problem with that tho is those guys are bigs. It makes sense for bigs to need playmakers. Well Flagg was supposed to be a big when we first found out about him, but he didnt grow like that. So he’s a wing and a kinda unnatural one . So he’s not gonna be KG/AD, etc

Again imo the comp for him is Scottie Barnes. Jack of all trades master of none. Could be a 2nd option on a contender but probably best as a 3rd. All star caliber but not ‘generational’

I'm all for shyttin on dookies, and his iso possessions at the end of the Kentucky game were bozo status, but the kid is gong to be really really good.

That said, the real question for dook - especially with that gay ass fancy dance nikka hoopin serious for the Sixers - is how have they sent 25 players to the NBA in the past decade, including 16 who are bonafide rotation players or #1 options, without sniffin a title and losing ACC tourney and NCAA tourney games to teams without a fraction of their talent advantage?

It will always be fukk Duke.

Duke fukks themselves up without even trying.

Anybody that doesn't know a damn thing about Duke could google their best players of all time and they will see names like Laettner, Bobby Hurley, Chris Duhon, JJ Redikk and all that shyt. Draft busts mostly or very small role players. Kyrie Irving is the only one that comes to my mind who actually played important role in a championship winning season.

Then that smart dumb nikka overplayed his hand and suffered through a series of disasters by fukking himself off multiple teams, all under his Duke brand of leadership.

Now he's shacked up with a pasta eating Euro on the '24 version of the Amare/Nash Phoenix Suns.
