This here sounds like an old Mobb record - and I mean that as a high compliment.

It's amazing how Alchemist has so many sounds/vibes at his disposal. I don't think anyone has ever been close to as versatile as him.

It's crazy because as you know (you made the thread) he dropped another EP tonight in his weird experimental lane (This Thing of Ours 2 if anyone wants to check it).

He's definitely super versatile.

Really dope beat. One thing I’ll say is that Alchemist drums don’t knock like Havoc’s.

Havoc probably has the GOAT knocking drums of any producer to ever live, so that's definitely not too much of a diss to anyone if they aren't as dope as Hav on drums. It says a lot when other elite producers fly Havoc in all the time to help punch their drums up. Kanye uses havoc all the time for that.

And overall with producers and drums the top 2 are probably Dilla and Havoc.

I'd put Black Milk in that conversation as well

I’m 99.9% sure it’s not this but the sample instantly reminded me of the end scene in The Game. I’ll spoiler it for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie - dope movie go see it asap. Skip to about 3min mark to hear the piano start.

Classic movie...if you haven't seen The Game DO NOT watch that clip. Spoilers. Go watch the movie it's on Netflix.

I don't think that's the sample. I think this is another Beat Butcha creation. It's the same basic vibe from George Bondo, just more downtempo. Dr Birds. Basically that shyt where you press a bunch of keys and sample/chop it up to make it sound like you sampled something.

I love Alch but I'm not feeling this. And it's the same super gangsta shyt, with the same adlibs, same overly long chorus that isn't really a chorus. Meh.
