I would ask him why he made street records then
Maybe he likes them.

He doesn't have to appeal to a certain demographic to make a certain kind of music.

Not just him but anyone. Ross. Slim Jesus. Whoever

And then Jamar gonna go and act like that Eminem corny ass bars didn't ruin that Conway song :snoop:
Had to rep.

That song was good until Eminem came on started spitting and completely made the rest of that track unlistenable.'

I figured with him being around actual MCs like Conway, Westside, Benny and all them he'd step his bars up but I just think this is Eminem's go to style now...it's unbearable.

Yea, that verse was garbage. And Jamar actually said he didn't like it also, as @FreshAIG pointed out. I originally turned the video off too soon.

But Billy Ocean clearly misunderstood what Jamar said and even admitted it in a later post in this thread.

Not in 2019 but let's not act like people didn't listen to his first 3, your favorite rappers from the hood did, just that is enough.
Specially the rap nerds who fukk with the art of rhyming.
Lets be real, when Lord Jamar means "the hood" he means Black people. I mean, that's when I was fukking with him...when "Just Don't Give A fukk" was getting played on underground hip-hop radio and he was on Stretch & Bobbito and the wake up show with tech and sway doing freestyles and he did instores at Fat Beats. that was when he was hip-hop..

I honestly think Black people only fukked with Eminem from 1998 - 2002. Then again he surrounded himself around mad influential black rappers and proiducers from that period and he was getting played on "urban" (ie black) radio....It was really when white people started fukking with Eminem more and he became commercial that I feel black people stopped fukking with him like that. once 8 mile came out that was it. Then the dude's music started getting cornier and cornier.

And I lived in the hood, and the burbs. I ain't never heard Eminem getting played like that out of anybody's car...no black people, no spanish people, nothing...I have heard Eminem getting played out by waaaaaay more white people than black. Thats not to say Black people don't listen to him...but I cannot for the life of me remember when I was hanging out with other black people and any of them played Eminem's music.

Not all black people are hood. Not all hood people are gangsters. Not all gangsters are hood.

Urban literally refers to the inner city. Plenty of black people live in the suburbs.

Them dudes always remind me of a Chappelle/Kenan and Peele skit, like they are the stereotypical hardcore killer rappers who make mean faces in every photo and shyt like that, lol

That said he is right, the hood dont listen to Eminem ..or Black Thought, Mos Def, Common, Lupe, Royce, Monch, etc.... Countless unbelievable rappers get no burn in the hood, so what?

I've heard the bolded get played in the hood though...in black coffeeshops and bars. I was spinning that stuff as a DJ in hood spots.

BLack people don't fukk with Eminem like that. Let's be real...his brand of aggressive content and humor just doesn't resonate liek that to Black hip-hop audiences by and large. Who wants to hear about him threatening to kill his wife for the 17th time or him rapping about sticking gerbils up his ass? His style completely resonated with white hip-hop loving dudes who didn't have a legit MC of their own to stand behind at the time. And he wasn't billed as the industry's great white hope, but his fanbase put him there.

On a technical level, yes EMinem is one of the greats. When it comes to lyrics and freestyle ability, EM is up there. When it comes to selecting beats, Em is terrible. When it comes to replay values on his albums, EM just doesn't have it. And personally I always think that if black peopel do not fukk with you in some way, shape, or form, your status as a GOAT rapper is questionable.

Black people fukk with Drake more than Eminem.

What does that say about Eminem, if he's supposed to be this rap god?

Em really picks his battles.
And thats another thing, Em always beefed with Pop stars and people like Moby.
When real MCs came at him, he always seemed to duck away from it.
Canibus? :lolbron:
Everlast? :lolbron:and he murdered him on wax.
Cage?:russ:

His only real victory was against Benzino, and zino called him out accordingly back then.
And against Juice, but these kids don't remember that.
And recently against Machine Gun Kelly, but MGK really went in on him before that happened.
Other than that (and possibly ICP) his battle record is shaky.

There are actually a bunch of rappers out in Brooklyn that are doing that whole Griselda x FR/Roc Marciano type shyt now...and they definitely rep the hood and their blocks, sets, and they definitely do work...they ain't nerd rappers.

That shyt isn't a novelty anymore and to be honest that boom bap style never went anywhere, trap just superceded everything.
