They don't "emit" mercury, lol. They do contain small amounts of mercury that you can be exposed to if they're broken, just like a mercury thermometer.

But the difference is a mercury thermometer contains about 500 mgs of mercury. A CFL contains only about 4 or 5 mgs.

Link?

You just summarized your worldview on everything.

I actually knew that. Thanks though. And the difference between the bulb and the thermometer is that when the bulb cracks a mercury VAPOR is emitted in the air. When a thermometer is broken it comes out as a liquid (for the most part) which can be easily cleaned up, and not inhaled.

The word EMIT comes from the fact that the mercury is released as a vapor.

Here, smart ass notice the wording of the article title: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/apr/27/ethicalliving.lifeandhealth (im not cosigning the conclusion of this article btw)

I also would love to add that you're an extraordinarily good dikk sucking faqgot. You too, The Real.

:lupe: you hoping i learned something from you after you stated you didnt care if something you were saying was true, how interesting...

I said I don't care to find out how true it is whether the bulbs make people sick or not, by not trying them. The issue being addressed in the post I directed you to has nothing to do with that statement. You know that, but ofcourse it's more fun to act as if you're a genius here.

For a group of people who would probably swear on the heads of your own children as to how smart and sophisticated you all are, you all sure do know how to play games.

You didn't say anything about them being broken. You said they emit mercury. Emit means "to throw or give off or out (as light or heat)." You worded it like you meant they just shine mercury into the home.

If they're broken, a miniscule amount of mercury is exposed dissolved in phosphorous powder, and of that miniscule amount, and even more miniscule amount may release as vapor in the short time it takes before you clean it up. But it's not nearly enough to cause any health problems. Not to mention all you have to do is not break a bulb, you clumsy motherfukker.

I also would love to add that you're an extraordinarily good dikk sucking faqgot. You too, The Real.

I hear that about you from certain wealthy Jewish real estate magnates.
