He is using what sells to enrich himself, given the chance to gain fame, fans and
$$$$$$ by pushing ideology to young white men...why would he stick it out in
academia giving lectures in bummy suits for paltry sums when he can

Well in order to polarise or sell to people ...you need to shift the blame so they
don't resent you for their own decisions. In this case it's legacy media vs
amateur journalism/alt right/gamers/youtubers and vice versa.
