Congratulations to the State of Tennessee. You have just given the country a deeper lesson on CRT than any AP course could ever have

What Tennessee did this weekend will have more longterm implications for the GOP not just in that State but in all other states with Gen Z. My state of Wisconsin has had a ton of Gen Z voting for Democratic candidates and while GOP can do what it wants to... in a decade... maybe more or less... Gen Z will remember this along with the next Generation who want to voice their opinion.

They're coming. Social media is a powerful tool and they use it to spread the word. No more MTV to grab attention, unlike our generation. Rethugs can't continue them attacking while the loyal baby boomers go to the upper room.

Social media is a powerful tool...

To add on. The younger generation WILL FIND outlets for Social Media if/when Twitter goes out. Be it Mastodon, Hive, Post, Cohost, Etc.... whatever takes it over. However with Facebook and Twitter, they are the final station for Right-Wingers because of the obvious... but there is really no other platform out there that can harbor hate speech but also have a left-leaning base.

Most platforms now that have a heavy left-influence, a base that the right needs to troll/harass/dox, doesn't allow that... or just makes it very hard.

So when Twitter goes away you will have Telegram and maybe Discord servers... with no left-leaning folks and just right-wingers.

And the thing is... as much as people talk about DARK MONEY... you don't really need dark money when a ton of people get their news from Social Media.

I get the outrage as it's warranted, but really all this pushback against Abortion, Gun Control, LGBTQ+... these kids that are growing up, they are growing up fast not just in age but seeing the struggles of their parents, their community and their country they will remember.

I totally disagree with this. America, at this rate, doesn't have a decade. People need to get out on the street and protest this now.

I think this is very optimistic. A lot of what you said was written about millennials during the Obama years.

The one thing zoomers will fight over is gun control because that’s been their reality, and maybe global warming.

Saying that, what Tennessee GOP is doing will probably have serious repercussions.

I know it's very optimistic and to be fair, I am coming off a political high seeing Wisconsin trending blue. I know every region is different, but at the same time... the current crop of GOP politicians as group, just doesn't have any leaders... like if you just threw away the talking points... you would say Mitch McConnell, but even now Mitch feels less powerful even before he lost Senate Maj.

It's almost as if MTG is the leader, because her name is always popping up, always in the media... and she is just a congresswoman.

No one else is standing out and being extremely vocal, they are just spouting talking points and blaming Biden.

Trump's their leader, but I know what you mean.

Unless the GOP drastically changes course, in 20 years they'll be basically dead. The younger generations are much more liberal and stay liberal even when entering middle age.

I agree with you on being cautious about the optimism, but to me this is very different environment imo than was with millennials and Obama.

The culture wars stuff now is very blatant from the right and Zoomers aren’t centered around a cult of personality like Obama and is instead focused around those issues, which I think will be more sustainable for political engagement.
