Yeah Romo's obsession with Witten has hurt this team. We've tried the 'Witten as the first option' approach for many years, what has that gotten us? Nothing.

Dez really went off yesterday.

Ive been seeing that they are the only two safeties in camp taking niccas heads off :pachaha: We haven't had goons back there since Darren Woodson and Rookie season Roy Williams :to:
let's not forget my south dallas goon. keith davis.

I have no qualms with force-feeding the ball to Witten. He's a matchup nightmare because LBs are too slow and DBs are too small. He has tremendous hands, always finds holes in the secondary, and consistently picks up 1st downs. Most of Romo's poor decisions and INTs come when he tries to force the ball down the field to our WRs. When he's throwing to Witten, it's almost always a positive result.

It's our running game/o-line and play-calling that you guys should be worried about. Romo-Witten connection is great because it works AND because it pulls a safety's attention towards the TE seam and away from our WRs. :win:

Well I'd contend that Witten is open a lot because team's don't mind him going off. He's not an explosive player and his YAC is minimal. Defenses are content letting us dink and dunk down the field with Witten until we get in the red zone and they key in on Witten. It's why we're always high in yards, low in points, and low in Witten TDs. We desperately need the explosive play back in the offense like we had with T.O. Too many things go wrong with this dink n dunk offense (turnovers, penalties, Garrett brain fart, etc.)

:ehh:
That's a fair assessment, but I don't see that as a reason to not take what the defense gives and to stop throwing to Witten. If the yards are there, we have to take them. I'm all about throwing more down the field to Dez. For some reason, it seemed like last year all the playcalls for deep throws went to Kevin fukking Ogletree :why:. I hate the playcalling man. We have Miles and Dez, and for some reason this a$$hole Garrett wants to get the goddamn 3rd stringer involved in the offense so badly.

Personally, I just think the Cowboys' failure in the red zone and not having points equilibrate with their yardage numbers has more to do with Jason Garrett's ineptitude at playcalling than any decisions Romo makes. :yeshrug:

:wtf: Witten is slow as heck...Dude always get caught. That phrase about LBs being too slow and DBs being too small works for most TE but not Witten. He's just good at creating separation when the ball is thrown. And Him and Romo have great chemistry so it usually works well. LBs be stride for stride with Witt though :pachaha:

As a cowboy fan I want to believe that this year will be different but our O-line is still trash. I know Romo is gonna be running for his life I smell a 8-8 season.:beli: I really want to punch Jerry Jones in the face for playing GM.

corner play in the NFC East is weak, if Dez plays 16 he should get 1800+

WR's usually pop in the 3rd year, that was the case again. single handedly kept them .500
