To me, it's the craziest thing Ennis has written. And that's saying something.

Nah, Crossed is by far. That shyt is pure shock value about the human race turning into cannibal rapists.

The Boys is basically just a take on "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" where the "superheroes" are complete self-entitled abusive pricks. It was a great parody book for a while but somewhere past the midway point (I think around the X-Men inspired arc) it fell off pretty bad and it ended extremely anticlimactic.

#21 (the 9/11 issue) still remains one of my favorite comic book issues of all time though, that shyt is Garth Ennis at his absolute best.:lawd:

For those who've read The Boys and other Ennis work how crazy is it compared to say Preacher ?
Different kind of stories.

I've only read his Preacher, Boys and Hitman runs: as well as various Punisher stories.

Boys is a story of a group of cats putting "heroes" in their place. The "heroes" are portrayed as morally flawed.

Ah ok, I just downloaded it I'll check out the first couple of issues this weekend.

It's a lot crazier, and not necessarily in a good way. In Ennis' own words, he wrote the book with the idea to out-preacher Preacher.

Damn that's ridiculous always felt you couldn't top Preacher, shyt his Punisher run seemed tame compared to it.
