GOP controls govt at every level (and we're gerrymandered enough that they'll still have the house in 2018 regardlesss) and they''re just not going to impeach a GOP president. Dems can't do anything, so we're probably stuck with Trump until at least 2020.

Wrong. You only need to convince 20 something Republicans in the house to file articles of impeachment. Every Dem will vote to impeach.

And furthermore at some point it will be out of their hands. I fully expect there to be criminal charges filed against Trump himself at some point. Or it will be threatened and he will resign.
