Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell rejected calls for a special prosecutor or independent commission to investigate Russia’s election meddling in the wake of the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

"Today we'll no doubt hear calls for a new investigation, which could only serve to impede the current work being done," McConnell said on the Senate floor, referring to the Senate Intelligence Committee's current probe of Russian interference in the election and possible collusion with President Donald Trump's campaign. McConnell also slammed Democrats for their criticism of the Comey firing after knocking his performance repeatedly.

My theory
the Russians have armed Trump with scandalous secrets (Kompromat) on all the repubs, they will all do as he pleases (see Chaffetz), except for a few with clean lives, Combine that with promises of trickle down millions from the loot they bout to rob from the coffers of the Russian and American people, they will all fall in line

There needs to be a rule that says if the FBI director is investigating the President or the people around the President, the only way he could be fired is by a 60 vote Senate.
