Why is Jalen making NFL passes now but so called couldn't at Bama just a year ago? :lupe: Tua has a light because of his talent.... Saban puts his QB in boxes...... always have.... you supposed to be a fan right?

I am a fan and have watched every play of both Tua and Jalen, but you’re comparing Lincoln Riley (who’s the best offensive coach in America) and Saban, by your logic, every coach not named Riley puts their QBs in boxes, which like I said, didn’t stop Tua and Blake Sims from putting up big numbers. Yes he was handicapped in 2017 but that was more of Daboll not knowing how to play to his strengths.

At the same time you can’t blame coaching on 57 passing yards in Playoff Semifinal and 24 yards in the first half of the National Championship.

I don't know if Lincoln Riley is the best offensive coach in America..... but he does coach to his QBs strengths... every coach runs a system.... and if Hurts couldn't throw downfield 10 months ago, why is he able to make these types of throws now? The only thing that's changed is the coach/philosophy........ and yes systems can make or break players.... especially QBs, hence why all of Bama QBs are wildly mediocre or non factors in the pros, pending Tua of course.....

Actually Hurts was making those throws 10 months ago, once he got an actual QB coach which he never had, he was throwing dimes just like he is at OU now, but of course we wasn’t going to bench Tua for Jalen.

How exactly is that a great situation?? At best he's Taysom Hill barring a Wentz Injury
Learning from Peterson and Wentz gets injured every year so he'll get his chances. Hill would be more of a commodity if he had any chance to be an actual QB like Hurts does. Nothing wrong with him playing a bit of that Taysom Hill role early on

Still, how does that equal a "great situation"... Wentz is a 100m+ franchise qb... Barring injury, when do u see him getting a legit shot at A starting Gig?

Again, you act like Wentz hasn't been injured every year lol. But as long as Jalen improves and shines when he does play(which I'm assuming will be a good bit since they took him so early) then he'll be a valuable commodity. A lot of guys have had to go this route

Great in the sense of :
- not gonna be thrown to the wolves on a bad team in year one
- gets the opportunity to work with a proven HC & QB right away

Jalen's gonna have a minor package this season barring injury, but if he thrives at that and does his thing next summer lighting up OTAs and the preseason teams will start calling. He's got a quicker path to being a starter than Love.
