Partially correct, but a fetus first beings to grow female genitalia in the womb. The male genitalia grows from that, so essentially a penis is just a larger clitoris in some ways.

The way I understand it you are both right. The sex is determined by the chromosomes of the male sperm cell, at the time of conception. However, development of a fertilized egg is the same for male and female, until at a certain stage, due to the genes on the Y-chromosome, male fetuses start to produce substances that change the development to follow the 'male' course.

the only explanation i could form was to link this to the amount of fatherlessness. other than that it doesnt really make sense why it would be higher. if homosexuality was genetic, it should be the same across the board - not higher here and lower there

on a personal level i notice this a lot with black women. a lot more black women are lesbian than other races of women. its seems like there are way more now too even than when i was say like middle school

Interesting perspective but you have discounted the role of family pressure ..if you factor in the fact that the black family has been totally decimated by the welfare system and the justice system perhaps alot of the black gays and lesbian surge can be attributed to not having a father or family to dissapoint .
Could it be perhaps that the stronger bonds of having two patents and closer family are keeping alot of the white and latino kids from coming out so openly.

keep in mind thats just my speculation.

one other thing is that when you have single mothers they must play that role of not just a mother but a father as well. thats not natural and can make a young child not really understand what a man is or what a woman is, when they look up at their mother, and she is playing the role of both. its confusing to see somebody of that many mixed traits and to grow up forced to see that may be playing a big part
