Part of the coaching profession is elevating and moving on. Memphis is a stepping stone job.
Penny has shown he can consistently get over 20 wins and recruit decently. It doesn’t have to be a ”big time” job, but a better one.
Memphis is flush with money and they've spent a good deal of money in the portal, Penny was 15-2 and ranked #10 in the country, all he had to do was not lose to the bumass squads in the conference and they would be dancing. He mismanged that squad playing too many dudes
As long as Memphis is in the AAC, its a stepping stone job IMO.
