Pair of Newcomers Join Cast of Alonge Hawes’s Black On Both Sides

As the second season of Alonge Hawes’s award winning drama series ‘Black On Both Sides’ gears up to premiere on October 12th, news of casting additions have been announced by Seeka.tv. Booked for the second season are Antonio Kanonu (Killer Couples) and Alexander Patterson (Darian Blue) who will join the cast as series regulars.
Kanonu is set to play Cairo Hughes, an intelligent and charismatic civil rights activist who is looking to join up with Sankofa Industries, the organization founded by series protagonist Anansi Moor at the end of season 1. Patterson is set to play Melvin Reeves, the best friend of Cairo and a jokester who must overcome certain personal prejudices if he is to be allowed to join the organization.
Antonio Kanonu is best known for his extensive background in television, having guest starred on several programs including TV ONE’s Fatal Attraction as Tim Barker and Oxygen Network’s Killer Couples as Nathaniel Jackson.
Alexander Patterson is a relative newcomer, having appeared previously in the audio drama Darian Blue as Mathis Davidson. He also serves as host and producer of the podcast Onside Kickin It Wit Alex P.
Antonio Kanonu is repped by McCray Talent Agency and Making Stars Talent Agency. Alexander Patterson is repped by Sol Talent.
Black On Both Sides is created, written, and directed by Alonge Hawes; who also serves as show-runner and executive producer alongside George Reeves. The series stars Hawes as Anansi Moor, Julian Robinson as Henry Gil Scott Heron, Kiara Woods as Maya Patterson, Shani Hawes as Nandi Chisholm, Scott Piehler as Cyrus Alexander, and Lasada Lloyd as Nefertiti Bridges. Asante Watkins (Driving While Black) serves as Director Of Photography. The series is produced by Jamal Mcclendon, Rodderick Fedd, Shani Hawes, and Cordarol Sanders under A Million Stories One Pen Productions.
