I think a lot of us are waking up to accepting that black people can have different views, but as long as they aren’t publicly bashing the black community, you aren’t necessarily an Uncle Tom. Plus, Colin and Condi weren’t riding for Trump.

Many of the traditional/old school Black Republicans then understood where the party was heading and decided to move away from it-some did not. Now a Black who chooses to ally with today’s Rs and deny/ignore the more overt racism, eh. (It existed then, not weaponized the way it has been with Trump).
It’s worth noting socially a lot of Black people have similar values as the Republican Party.

Second of all, people continue to act like they are unaware that a lot of Black people in Colin Powell's age range were Republican, because most Black people used to be in the Republican party before switching to the Democratic Party in the 1950's and 1960's. After all the Republican party is the party of Lincoln. The open racists you see in the Republican party now days used to be in the Democratic party. They used to call those people Dixiecrats. Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan are the people that lured those clowns into the Republican party back in the 1970s and 1980s. So those fools joined the Republican party when Colin Powell was already in it.
So when you see old Black people in the Republican party you should not assume that they are c00ns. They might have just not bothered switching political parties, but that didn't mean that they did not identify with Black people causes or support Black people advancement.

We know that if someone dies of a car accident, but has covid at the time, then that death is counted as a "covid death".
If Powell actually died of old age or something other than covid, than we need to know that, especially since the goal is to vax everyone. Why would someone hesitant of the jab take it, if he/she is under the false notion that Powell died "of covid" being fully vaxed when he really died of old age?
