He was one of the few Republicans who you felt wasn't c00ning it up. I can disagree with their stance but respect them. Sad that most black Republicans can only be put on by shytting on black folks. He wasn't one of them.

Second of all, people continue to act like they are unaware that a lot of Black people in Colin Powell's age range were Republican, because most Black people used to be in the Republican party before switching to the Democratic Party in the 1950's and 1960's. After all the Republican party is the party of Lincoln. The open racists you see in the Republican party now days used to be in the Democratic party. They used to call those people Dixiecrats. Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan are the people that lured those clowns into the Republican party back in the 1970s and 1980s. So those fools joined the Republican party when Colin Powell was already in it.
So when you see old Black people in the Republican party you should not assume that they are c00ns. They might have just not bothered switching political parties, but that didn't mean that they did not identify with Black people causes or support Black people advancement.
