I read on Twitter I believe something along the lines of "To white people, Black people's physical capabilities makes them American, but opening their mouth for themselves makes them ******s."

Sounds an awful lot like the view they had of us since slavery, because it is. And a cac will tell you straight up that slavery doesn't effect blacks anymore. :mjlol:

Tbh, we can argue all day about its effects on blacks. But shyt I know for a fact slavery still effects white people:yeshrug:

That was sarcasm:comeon:
Point taken.

"Burden" to not salute a flag that represents black oppression??:dwillhuh:
Burden in the sense that they have to be on the front line of this issue. Not every athlete is gonna be as passionate about this issue as Kaepernick. Not every athlete is built to deal with the shyt storm of criticism that will come their way over something like this. Not every athlete will be able to articulate their viewpoints as well as Kaep. And don't take this the wrong way, but perhaps some athletes don't care nearly as much. All you can ask is that everyone be informed on these things.

I feel you 100%, matter fact the highlighted is why I sarcastically used the word "hero". We worship these athletes but when its time to take a stand and speak up on REAL LIFE issues they are nowhere to be found. Ali was a true "hero".

No its not there burden to fight white supremacy as athletes but as a black man first I'm simply wondering their feelings about this. Lots of us were unaware of the history behind this song, that's no longer the case.

so it took a quarter or half breed man to tell you that in 2016???

You fukking imbecile.
It's not like there's a tv channel, or textbook in school pushing facts like these. I had no clue of the third verse of this song until today. But I can guarantee you I'm still more aware and knowledgeable about these general topics than most of these people that knew this random tidbit.
