Keep it Intergalactic
Keep it Wild

In other words lean into being unapologetically you warts and all.

Don’t worry about if it’s perfect …

did you show your heart …

did you bare your soul?

Yeah that's all I know lol. Most of my work consists of "been there done that", life woes, being real, and my own thoughts on modern times. I always believe to be truthful than living with a concealed lie.

I usually have 10 to 15 drafts of a piece.

Read your work out loud/record it and repeat it.

The parts that you remember or give you goosebumps stay. Don't overthink what to say. It's all about tapping into the pure essence of your message.

Dragon or some other form of talk to text can help you pull everything out to play with.

I honestly have like a Google Drive with poems from last year that I never looked back at. I have been listening to this podcast called "I Should Be Writing" and the one thing I'm going to start doing is writing a page or something a day. I used to do that but I dunno what happen between then and recent :francis:

What help do you need exactly?

Help ridding yourself of writers block?
Help finding paying gigs?

Nah the gigs are just wasteful energy. More so getting back on the horse concerning how motivated I used to be.

Don’t concern yourself with how you’re going to get people to read your book before you even write the book.

Writing isn’t about that.

Write because you enjoy it. Because creating something out of thin air is Godlike. That’s where the joy lies. In the process itself.

When it’s all done, then put it out into the world. If you truly wrote for you and not what you thought people wanted to read, it will be good. And good things find their audience.
Been with the G code :wow:

Sometimes, I just get frustrated with the direction of literature and the grim reality of books being a thing of a past, when it was the epitome of my Joeyhood.

yes it is a shytty time to be a writer.

that being said, i was able to find some paid success writing by writing my theories down (2019), turning those into a podcast(2019-present), and then moving with my now wife into a different city, finding an organization that allowed me to implement some of those ideas(for free then later paid), luckily getting a tv interview from a reporter who also moved to that town and then an editor reached out to me to contribute to a yearly anthology. This is the second year i have contributed to it.

However, if you aren't in the position to get those ideas effecting change on the material world, then within the niche that you want to write in, look for journals that are accepting submissions in those areas, h-net.org for the academic side, local CfPs, local conferences.

Master P has been wrong about literally every other business endeavor except for the fact that one has to believe in oneself to sell records out the trunk. the internet and real life is the trunk in the parking lot. Not all parking lots are helpful.

Open up your trunk in the parking lot of your audience and make em say uhhhh :blessed:

abandon considerations that writing is what changes things. Writing helps you get to yourself. I never thought i'd be paid to write about the ideas I gave out for free. Although that was a part of the reason why I started (some podcast i used to listen to talked about "if you can talk forever about any subject you should be getting paid for that expertise"). The ideas that I am being paid for NOW were NOT what I was talking about then, but the theme carries through.

getting your ideas out of the mess and into order...the primordial plasma big-banged into matter. The planet of the water had sand cast from the snail to make the land to make the life. This is the universal way. You better get it in order breh, its the only thing going.

Appreciate the living hell out of this post breh. I needed this because whooo boy, the marsupial been a mess :francis: . Need to stop bullshytting and getting it together with these projects man.

It doesn’t have to be a diary though. You can spin your life and feelings into stories. Ernest Hemingway for example based his characters on actual people he knew and real life situations to make his writing compelling.

Have you heard of web novels? There are sites where you can post novels a chapter at a time for people to read and comment on. Some people create Patreon accounts so that people can pay them money to read chapters early. Then they collect all the chapters into an e-book and sell them on Amazon. It's hard to stand out and build a big audience but the most popular web novelists are making a crazy amount of money right now.
If you write fantasy of sci-fi stuff, then the best site for web novels is Royal Road. I'm not sure about other genres
-I'm actually working on a fantasy series so good looking on this one.

I have actually been holding for dear life for a concept of a story for quite some time.

Putting it in the chamber and hoping for the best.

With AI taking over innovation, shıt is tough. As far as getting out there, it's networking. Agencies are rip offs.

Breh I used to get anxiety attacks looking at those "writers wanted" gigs on Indeed, because I know they don't have the Vaseline ready to fukk me over :dame:

-Don't be trump. Don't have a concept of a story.

-Teacher told me "Don't think, just write" when it comes to the first draft. Get the thoughts onto the page, you can always go back to edit & make it make sense.
