2-1 Chip out of the 3 tracks, moreso 1.75. To 1.25, ill explain why below since we cant give a tie.

Raps were equal/both cats did their thing on the mic, Chip may have had the standout bar with the Harvey Dent/Poison Ivy flip. TFlasha hook game is flat out (got damn breh).

TFlasha showed a bit more versatility out of his track selection though. What gave Chip the edge for me was production, and he closed out well with his 3rd track on some emcee/bar shyt, that and I wasnt feeling the Strip to much.



The best track out of the six though is easily Hope I Never Land, that shyt is fukking crazy, got damn.

plus its hard to say you make better music than somebody just based off one song. If that was the case nikkas like Mims and Trinidad James would be legends and not the one hit wonders we remember them as.

The format is what it is because Verzuz is about showcasing your catalog. Its hard to do that with just 1 song. Plus nikkas have a whole week to vote so its more than enough time. Anybody can get lucky and put together one decent song, but listening to at least 3 songs gives you an idea of how capable they really are.
Hell, usually if someone has one fire song, you're gonna wanna hear more from them anyway. This just lets people get 3 songs from you off rip. shyt's a win win for everybody but

I'm sure nikkas wouldn't want to just hear 1 song a piece from the Lox and Dipset's battle.

3 song format can be a bit difficult when there are different intangibles involved though (like production, hooks, lyrics and etc) . My vote pretty much came down to track selection for the verzuz, even though I felt TFlasha had the best song overall. Everything was fire overall from both parties but the grey area is there. Almost seems like it should be 1 song or an at least an EP's worth of tracks to judge. I rock with you either way though

I do appreciate the way you view things tho, because if one artist happens to make one song that is the best outta 6 songs, it wouldn't be a stretch to say he makes the better music. He'd definitely have the higher peak.

but, production, hooks, lyrics, delivery, flows, etc.... are all a part of what makes a song good and if an artist can deliver on all those categories consistently, more than likely he prolly makes good music.

Since you a fellow boxing fan look at it this way. Jrock's win over Jarret Hurd is a better win than anything Crawford has, but nobody would say Jrock is a better boxer than Bud. He just has that one thing over dude. Just like you can have a better flow then someone, but fail to have better bars and production than your opponent. It then comes down to what holds more weight to you personally.

That's why 3 songs is a good barometer because each person really gets 3 chances to impress you. You either vote for them because you think the majority of their songs or better or you vote for them because they had the best song in the whole match up. Neither way is wrong really. Some people might just need to hear one song to determine who's better and that's cool. Others might need the 3.

EP/Album battles would actually be the evolution of this concept since you can make good music and not necessarily make good cohesive projects.
