I just watched 'Backdraft'. Hadnt seen it in 20+ years. Saw it a handful of times as a kid in the 90s and remembered really enjoying it.

After watching it last night, shyt was not as good as I remembered. William Baldwin was terrible and his character is a total bytch. Kurt Russell acted his ass off but was kinda overdoing it. Script was really ass to. And it was so weird having Hans Zimmer score the movie and how it was implemented was trash.

Meh. Hits a bit differently in the pandemic but ultimately still couldn't connect with the story. Film definitely had one of the most misleading trailers I've ever seen.

Oh madone....this was a straight chore to get through. Would've turned this off 20 minutes in if it wasn't for Anne's sexy ass and Ejiofor co-starring.

I liked it. I liked Hathaway "let me speak to the manager" schtick in the third act.

It is amazing how convenience and apathy turned this world into what it is

after seeing @Zero post this decided to watch it myself...pretty good 70s flick featuring your typical 70s sound fx and violence. Hoffman & Olivier (stole the show) were strong as were most of the actors. But man, they do not make thrillers like they used too

also this film reminded me of Uncut Gems...wouldn't be surprised if this influenced it

Its overrated, I saw it a few years back, maybe it was riske at the time, which is why cacs love it so. But I was watching the movie like "what's the point"

This really wasn't bad but it seemed like it was scared to really go in. Like there was a sense of hesitancy to really dig deep into the story. Anthony Mackie's stiffness actually benefitted Bernard's character.


But my biggest problem with this...all that, and nikkas lost?

Definitely a lot of mind-fukkery going on, but watching a lot of sci-fi shows helped with some of the understanding. Would have liked a better climax and use of the concept in the end, but liked the fact it kicked off with a bang of John David Washington brought a nice physicality to the action scenes.
