The Invisible Life Of Euridice Gusmao was this year's Un Certain Regard winner at Cannes. It tells the story of two sisters in 1950's Brazil who become separated when the father denounces his youngest daughter. Living in the same city without realizing it, both sisters believe the other sister is actually living their dream life abroad as their personal lives are dominated by the oppressive patriarchic bigotry of their surroundings. The film is a bit on the long side but the story it tells is quite fascinating and the ever growing drama of the two sisters separately fighting the same problems does build up to a rewarding (and realistic) climax.

Watched these over the weekend again, guilty pleasure of mine lol.. I'd recommend if you can turn off your brain and not care too much about plot holes or realism, entertaining as fukk.
