Earrrrrrly Kurosawa. Hadn't quite got it down yet and was a bit rough in spots but still a good watch. Toshiro Mifune was so young, I almost didn't recognize him.

I said Ikiru was the first Kurosawa film where I felt the runtime, but this is the first film of his where it felt like a chore to get through. The movie ended a good 20+ minutes before it stopped playing

Can't say I was feeling the Marty Stu/savior character either. Blech.
