Drama from the director of Gomorrah about a kind-hearted but kinda pitiful dog groomer in a rundown Italian town. His only escape from his bored life is peddling in a bit of coke selling and hanging out with local troublemaker Simoné, whose lifestyle he is attracted too. But as Simoné's increasingly erratic behavior drags him down into a lifestyle too harsh for him, his way out becomes more and more difficult. It's supremely well-acted and does something right that you don't see often in movies, it takes a pitiful character who dreams of more and then harshly reminds you that there is no magic "getaway", and for all your dreams and wishes, you can't change anything if at heart you can't change what you are. It's confronting and depressing and it's amazing.
