CLEARLY the best in the franchise.

What stood out this time, particulpart since I've been marathoning the series, was Giacchino's brilliant score. His ability to interpolate iconic themes and create something both familiar and refreshingly updated is unrivaled.

Shangri-La
Netflix recommended the original series Slasher about a small town- the opening scene a man dressed in a creepy costume walked in a house, killed a man and his wife and cut a baby out of her stomach.

The "baby" moves back as an adult with her husband into the house where her parents were murdered, she starts talking with the murderer-who's now in prison- and as soon as she arrives murders start back up, with the new killer (who they call The Executioner) using the same costume as the original killer. Thus far there's a murder every episode and they go over old mysteries/disappearances, a lot of incidents are connected. It forces the Biblical angle with the deadly sins and related punishments but there are some interesting bits you learn about the citizens-for example, the daughter found and watched tapes of her mom getting banged out by nearly half the town including women:francis:. There are a lot of deaths for it to be a small town and they're creative with the killings.

A Quiet Place

:ehh:

Well done film, only 90 minutes, a mostly silent film. Elevated horror. I appreciated it.

Now unfortunately with the success of Get Out and AQP, studios are trying to cash in on Chucky remakes and Halloween sequels.

Come original or don't come at all.
