Been watching Man in a High Castle. It's better than I expected. B rate show, but has some good characters. The Japanese inspector, and main Nazi dude especially. The "good guys" make so many dumb ass decisions to move the plot along, though.
not a bad movie by any means but at a running time of damn near 4 hours, it was too much of a chore. great acting, great dramatic directing but this just meanders too much. i know practically nothing about the politics of the taiwan/american alliance in its early days but you can basically see rudderless youth in a confused time searching for identity. in a way it reminds me of the gang problem in the USA. i suggest you watch it if you can deal with subtitles and have lots of patience. it is also inspired by a true crime, so if you are into that subgenre, i think this does a great job humanizing everyone involved in the case this is based on.
i have to say, i was surprised at the amount of gang activity in 1960s taiwan
