The funniest of the 8 (I think) Almodovar flicks I've seen

maybe i need to give it another go..it just felt like something that was great for the time it was made in, but didn't hold my attention as much today.
that little boy was a great creep though and the song the girl sang was kinda haunting

I think you made up your mind and time to put that away i guess, watching some vintage flicks will seem dry especially wiith the amount of films that have come out and was influenced by films such as this..maybe i need to give it another go..it just felt like something that was great for the time it was made in, but didn't hold my attention as much today.

Never made that connection, but I also think Nightcrawler works better when viewed as a character study rather than a media critique. I think that aspect was a little on the nose at times.
Never seen The Lost Weekend, but Ray Milland is great. (Seek out The Big Clock, an excellent noir with a very clever story)
It's available on blu from the UK, and I told myself I'd wait until I owned it in hd to watch it....just haven't bought it yet

but i watch old movies all the time and i usually enjoy most of them.. i'll peep those other flicks you mentioned

Haven't watched this in years. Underrated flick.
Devil's advocate..meh. The themes and what the movie has to say on a spiritual sense is a lot stronger than the film itself. Great idea, meh execution
