Enjoyed this a lot. Clearly a movie that's not supposed to be taken seriously, but I can see others believing it is by how slow and moody it starts. It ends up flipping the script on its head in a similar manner to Zahler's Bone Tomahawk at a certain moment, more specifically when Don Johnson's character is introduced, and the tonal shift is undeniable. You're either loving it or hating it at that point. I had a fukkin' blast on this ride though. Made me think of HBO's Barry at several points and now I'm wondering if Hader was partly inspired by this for what occurs in the third to fourth season of that series. An ole to the cheesy, old school exploitation flicks of the 70s that's reflected through some ridiculous, cartoony ass practical effects.

Vaughn's character had me convinced he was made of adamantium with some of the blows he ended up taking.
At least until the end. :mjlol:
When he went Hulk mode on that poor car. :laff: :laff:

Pretty good, but I thought Schrader could’ve gone even harder with the subject matter coming off of ‘Taxi Driver’. I can understand how shocking of a concept this had to have been to audiences in the 70s, but also feel like the story’s end result would be much more grim if this was made today.

I thought the theatrical poster for it was really well done and grabbed me instantly. Wish more movies could market their stuff like this, ‘Longlegs’ being the rare exception these days.

I liked how some of the sequences were shot like a horror film. There is something deeply unsettling about having to watch a father in absolute disarray have to drive around late at night and wonder where his runaway daughter is at, with nothing but sex shops and porn theaters surrounding him.

The last thing I watched George C. Scott in was Dr. Strangelove, which filled me with laughs. So to see him hopelessly browsing around a porno shop here took a little adjustment period, lol. Great performance though.

Watched Sunshine for the first time. Great movie, but the third act threw me off a bit. How tf did dude survive with all them burns on him. Was he some type of super human :mindblown: shyt didn't make any sense nor did his motive. Still a dope flick though 8/10

Gonna watch Trance next.

Don't let the corny 90s trailer fool you, this is a great erotic thriller. I swear Linda Fiorentino was damn near the hottest woman at one point.

This is set in the 1960s with a lead actress who Plays a character that hasn't experienced nothing but verbal abuse from her father and hasn't gone anywhere. She works at the boys prison which should have never been a thing but I guess nobody knew any better.

In comes Anne Hathaway's character, a psychologist hired to work at the prison and.... I'll leave it there.

I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this movie, too bad it didn't come out a month earlier or later, it would have gotten serious consideration for movie of the year. 10/10
Now on Hulu. @Lootpack

Insane surreal doc, IDK how I slept on this for so long but I feel like its kinda below the radar for being a picture that documents an insane messy chapter in one of the biggest rock band ever's career

I had known about this incident from VH1 since I was a kid but didn't realize there was a whole movie that puts u right there as the shyt hits the fan

No matter how much clout u have, u need people that care about you enough- even if it's for ultimately self-serving reasons- to tell you "no" and keep you from doing dumb shyt like this

Lowkey if they were even a tier below, like a Doors level band, maybe they don't recover from the negative PR

Finally got around to watching this. Kinda over John Wick after part 2, didn't really like 3 that much and part 4 is just overkill literally but as much as they focus on the sets and cinematography the action is just kind of boring. We seen it all with Wick and by midway through I just wanted the movie to end.
