There are more human resource jobs than their are for law. The field of law is super saturated at the current time. HR is opened everywhere, and just because it's middle class doesn't mean that there is no room for advancement. HR is a relevant career and plays a pivotal role in the day to day operations of any successful or up and coming business.

Human Resource Management
or.
Law

Human Resource -
Good money
Not much competition
(Living good)

Law -
Insane Money
(Huge risk because over saturated field)
(Living great - or getting by depends on your network and luck)

Law is not necessarily insane money unless you get on with a big firm. Be prepared to be working 18 hour days at a big firm, (the one my ex worked at looked highly upon the attorneys that SLEPT at the office). You also have the student loan debt. It's no joke. 8/10 attorney friends regretted the decision when all was said and done.

As stated above though, you can go into anything after that.... After all that time and money.....

hmmm- the ex ended up going back to software dev- making about 110 doing that. One is at 70ishk, one at about 85k.... I think most are sitting around that level. Doing different areas of law as well- tax (he prob makes the most), DA (he makes about 55k), trust and estates (the one at 70ish) and a corporate one (at 85 or so).

But ultimately just do what makes you happy- cliche, I know. You'll waste so much time if you truly don't enjoy what you're doing. Money def helps, but it really isn't the end all to happiness.
