Why would keeper position "be more complicated than simply where they were drafted last season"?

I mean outside of waivers and multiple guys in the same round... how's the keeper value change?

Because players who were kept last year weren't necessarily drafted in that round in 2012.

For example...looking at the 2013 Draft Results shows Justin Upton, who was kept, as an 8th round pick. He was actually drafted in the FIRST round in 2012. He would require a 1st rounder to keep him this year.

Their keeper value doesn't change....it's just hard to find because picks slid all over the place before we changed the rules this past season.

Basically, if you're keeping someone who was also kept last year, make sure you check/ask me when they were drafted in 2012.

and probably Clay Buchholz 14th Round, but still debating Springer and Profar (who would be 15th round)
