COLI DEBATE: Should Flag Burners Face Some Kind Of Criminal PUNISHMENT?

As you may or may not know, my h is retired career military (20 plus years)

I personally wouldn't burn a flag and don't think it's really the most effective form of protest, but it is and should remain protected speech.

For those who feel it's an affront to military members you should know that the military serves so you can keep your rights including freedom of speech whether they agree with you or not.

All these flag waving "military lovers" shold be outraged that our military are deployed to generate corporate profit and are denied adequate health care when they return , not worry about are few instances of flag burning.

Hypocrites.

No penalty for flag burning. support veterans and active duty military with more than Internet outrage.

Well, I'm against it mainly because it's not productive. I've always been about productivity. What I care about is fighting income-inequality and institutionalized racism. Also, I think the inner cities need to be rebuilt and give grans to Black-Americans who want to start their own businesses. That's how I as a Black man view things. I don't try to partake in anarchist things just to be edgy. What I care about is fighting for a Political and Socialized Revolution.

I respect this view. Like I said, maybe I went overboard with fines, but I do respect the vets and all about Pro-Productivity. That's why I'm against flag burning. Congrats to your husband and I salute him defending freedom of every American

But why are you offended by burning a piece of fabric you didn't even make? You talking about it being a crime, well then can't be that unproductive if nikkas get in they feeling n sit about huh?

i think we should avoid entertaining donald trump's ideas and fantasies. practically anything he tweets is just him ruminating (if you could even call it that) at such a low level, and on an informal medium. and on topics he knows gets under people's skins; his tactics are similar to online trolls. you might as well read YouTube video comments or NY post comments

P.S. I'm AGAINST the oppression that's happened to Native Americans and Black/Afro-Americans in this country. Plus, I HATE that congress and the senate has a 90+ white male majority. I want minorities to fight and get elected in those positions. EVERYONE deserves a voice.

you miss my point; his talking about it made this a subject of discussion. I doubt if Hillary was president elect we'd be talking about burning flags as if that's a serious problem in America, worthy of stripping people of their rights. It's a distraction that you're feeding into
