I definitely think it's in poor taste and cringeworthy - and not funny - and the timing is terrible.
I think the remedy is to just not see the movie, though. I'm not convinced that there is a secret agenda behind the movie trying to indoctrinate little black girls to like white men over black men or anything devious like that. That being said, I am not saying you're being unreasonable.

I appreciate your response bc you actually seem receptive to a rational discourse. But, for real, think back to any of the major shows or movies that are promoted throughout the past years- it's more devious than you would think. Beyond devious - it's nefarious. Not only in terms of white men being pushed on black women, but reverse- black men toward white women. But the media knows that we, as women, are more emotional, so they cater toward our demographic. It's something I've picked up on.

Most recent example - this show called 911- Black woman finds out her black husband is cheating on her with a man, "gay" black man; they divorce and the next relationship is with the white man. Black=dysfunction, while 'white is right' mentality.
list goes on and on, but also notice the age demographic they market to is getting younger and younger - all the current Disney shows, but initially started Princess and the Frog, Victorious etc.( Keep in mind that none of these shows ever show a solid black male-black female relationship dynamic. There's a show on CBS called Good Neighbor - that's the only show I can think of right off top where there's a functional black married husband and wife with two sons- however, the premise of the show is about them introducing the white couple to their black neighborhood, making them feel comfortable. Not even 6 episodes in - their educated engineer son brings home a becky to date.. All I'm saying is that it's no coincidence and it's all by design. The white ptb has the 25-40 black woman -whitewashed, as even evidenced by some of the comments in this thread, now, they target the daughters/younger generation; they obviously don't seem to be getting much pushback bc (and i'm not coming at you disrespectful, don't take it the wrong way) people don't see a reason to "boycott" or protest this bc it's ingrained.
