If your shyt is hot then it shouldn't matter if somebody made their beat last year or an hour ago...you smashing me personally I probably have OCD so anything that is older no longer sounds hot to me but if you a hot nikka then you hot regardless.

Most beat battle tournaments I've been a part of have themes of some kind.

Round 1: Do a trap style beat
Round 2: Sample (Insert song here). Sometimes you can choose between 3 or 4 different songs to sample from
Round 3: Make a beat using an (insert artist here) acapella

there's a few ways to do it that sort of forces the producer to customize their sound.

As far as whether or not it MATTERS - Nah...not really. The best producer is probably still going to win regardless. But I just think that shyt is corny. I'd rather have a battle with someone and make a beat specifically for the event and have a deadline and shyt.

Why would anyone need a deadline to drop a beat they already made?

But anyhow. Let's fukking start this shyt already
