I doubt Gates serves more than 12 months, if anything. The way the sentencing plus cooperation works, is his minimum starts at 57 months, and from his cooperation, they will reduce the time, accordingly. So, by the time he is sentenced, the prosecutors will say give him 57 months, with a downward departure of 40 months for his "extensive" cooperation with the OSC. Gates also, has zero criminal record, cooperated early, accepted responsibility, pleaded guilty in his favor.
