All those matches would be fire in their primes.

But hes faced Punk, Kurt, and Bryan already.

So Taker, HBK, Austin, and Rock are the dream matches.

Not sure which one to choose.

HBK can go right now, I'm sure. Him and styles could legit have a GOAT match.

Not hyperbole.

Like one of the greatest matches in wrestling history

it wouldn't be better than anything we already seen aj and Daniels do already and better.
for neutered dialed back WWE workrant fans. Who like that form of neutered workrate. via smashmouth main event style wrasslin cause it is the gateway style most of this Gen are familiar with.
as that is the only style they have been witness to in general via mainstream outlets being only one in the WWE.

past that, the best match would be danile Bryan and aj. As that would be the only match that could elevate the rubrick od what the dialed back potential of the WWE smash mouth style amalgamated by the Indy heroes workrate formula. The only reason WWE improved was because of the Indy heroes workrate formula being applied by the Indy hero vets over time in the WWE. Personally this match needs to take place. As WWE needs a new submission to usher out the smashmouth main event wrasslin style. As it actually shaves years off the life of the performer, just as well as saving it. As it has to go to big outside of the realm of workrate normalcy to have enough pop to compensate. For being neutered from the actual physical limitations Steve Austin had from injuries. That later were held up and amalgamated with the west Texas redneck workrate style of hbk meets hhh. That hhh was never singularly able to amplify for himself via face based match templates. Yet was favored because hhh also had mobility issues. Including wanting to get a bit of the attitude era drawing oie for himself. Which would be easier attainable by just adopting the style. Then, of coursing applying the west Texas redneck workrate ideals with clique rules, bae bae.
anyway,...
if we are ever able to escape the limiting confines of the hhh clique based amalgamated changes to the smash mouth wrasslin style as a company standard. Plus, since the WWE is the gateway to wrasslin domestically. WWE. Needs to actually have Daniel Bryan and aj definitively update the standard main event style like many have done since entering the WWE. Yet these two would be the ones who could finally add layers or totaly revolutionize the WWE global match style and main event stylings as well. While offering high risk but safe match submission bumps and psychology based runs mid match. that is desperately needed to elongate the drawing and interest levels in general. to the WWE main event wrestling workrate style of matches

it'd be a crime if we don't get that DB vs AJ match before he dips when his contract expires

the crowd reaction alone would be out of this world :wow:

I’m glad @Nigmund Freud specificed that it’s in current form, or else it’d be really hard to pick one from the list. With those parameters, it became easier for me to whittle it down:

Taker - I have no doubt AJ and him could lay out a smartly worked match that would overcome Taker’s age and physical limitations at this point in his career (and I could really say that about everyone on that list, that person and AJ are both smart enough and skilled enough to pull it off) but, after watching him fight Roman this year, to me it’s clear he’s done. He moved tired, spent, and beaten. In this match AJ would do most of the heavy lifting, but I’d rather Taker just rode off into the sunset.

Austin - Before his last match nearly fifteen years ago he was really beaten up and worn down. After it, he was no better off. Even though he looks to still be in good shape, that’s not necessarily ring shape. He and AJ could work a smart brawl but I’d rather he not risk his health.

Angle - Kurt probably has a mini run left in him, but I’ve seen him and AJ wrestle so many times together there’s no new ground for me there. It’d be a good match for sure, but there’s no intrigue for me.

Bryan - If he could get medically cleared, I’d love to see it. Whether you believe WWE in that they were right to bench him or Bryan’s word that he can still go, there’s no denying it’d be a special match. Even if they wrestled back in the day, they’ve evolved enough as performers to bring something new and exciting to the table.

Punk - If he had the passion to return, they’d tear the house down. Post WM29 Punk was a clear shell of himself who just wanted to get out, who only put any effort in when he faced Brock. He looks to be in good shape (not necessarily ring shape) despite being a few years older since his last run, and match layout was always his biggest strength in ring. So him and AJ could tear it up would he choose to return with that fire he once had.

Rock - Still in phenomenal shape, looks like he could have another mini run if allowed to. He can still play the hits (Rock Bottom, People’s Elbow) and can sell and bump well. Only real concern would be if he got hurt again but the only injuries he suffered in his last return was against Cena, oddly enough.

HBK - Looked in great shape last year at Mania and even at Summerslam this year if you ditch the Colonel Sanders getup. Whether or not that translates to ringshape is iffy since he hasn’t wrestled in nearly eight years, but could reasonably make a return for a one off if he had to (theoretically anyway).

It’s really only Rock or Shawn Michaels to me. Stylistically, AJ and HBK match up better than him and Rock but either way I think you’d get a classic.
