Devil's advocate, the perspective from his position vs fans' has to be so different. Disliking someone who is probably dope af in person has to resonate with people who are just confused by the hate.

I don't know about the wishing rape part - those are the worst type of fans - but people hate Roman because they continue to force-feed him as the next guy. Roman been in four (counting this next one) wrestlemania main events, like five top 5 placings in the rumble (won two), won the world title three times - including giving him the go over Vince to get the crowd pop. He's beaten Triple H, Undertaker, Cena and next is Brock all while not being a "crowd favorite." That's just a ton of investment for someone the smark crowd doesn't like. Meanwhile, you got guys like Balor, Rollins, Braun, etc who all go down to his move most of the time.

I'm just laying out what I think and see. Personally, I'm fine with Roman. I actually think he should go a year to 14 months with the belt like Lesnar did. He's gotten much better in-ring over the last 18 months and can even carry some guys in matches, though he still finishes people off with his move.

But there's a fine line between being reasonable and a stooge and Coach totes the line of being a stooge far too often that people won't take even his valid analysis legitimate.

It's almost like Sam Roberts and Peter Rosenberg, soon as they started getting them WWE checks I couldn't even take their legit analysis seriously anymore because I now see them as WWE propagandists.

WWE doesn't care as much about "ratings" as they do "consumption" and fans consume the product. WWE is getting paid more ways than TV ratings. They are making money...profiting every single quarter. They cut pyro and we complain, but we still consume. They overpush "the network" and we complain but we still consume. They don't let your favorite wrestlers win, but they have hand selected people win...we complain, but we still consume.

The wheel keeps turning. Whether you hate RR or Cena or whoever, they keep making money, and that's why they are in business. The mythical "well they could make MORE money if" is ridiculous because that number tied to "if" doesn't exist. If fans vehemently rejected the product and it effected the bottom line, they would pivot. But until then...for better or worse:
