I feel like this interview was a work. If it is he could keep playing that type of I'm bigger than AEW stuff up and be the true TOP heel over there. If he isn't working us then he's a a$$hole on the real. These people are trying to pay you and he steady bytching. I hope he has enough money to last him once the wrestling fans stop caring about his little run in 2011.
Punk really is that a$$hole but this interview is definitely a work

Yeah it's a work, punk already signed that contract

Either that or they gave up on ever ever having him which wouldn't make sense because he would single handedly give them a remarkable ratings boost. Unless cody lost it, I agree that there is a done deal.

They need to give him the Brinks Truck. He's literally the one guy that'll actually get people to watch like crazy and it'll immediately make Vince go fukking nuts.

Cm punk is not a draw, never was a draw in WWE or UFC... He would not bring in any new fans

I think any talk of Punk being a draw is overstated or overestimated. Guys been gone from wrestling for 5+ years, embarrassed himself twice in UFC, and has done nothing to really keep himself relevant outside of the odd controversial headline here or there. Any eyes he’s gonna bring in are people who I’d wager are already watching AEW anyway :manny: but maybe I’m wrong, who knows

I don't think he can be a "game changer" at this point, but Punk certainly has enough of fan base and appeal to continue to give AEW strong attendance numbers and good merch sales. Like, you add Punk to the BTE mix and you buy yourself a good run (1 year at least) of goodwill with fans willing to buy tickets to see the promotion no matter what they do in terms of angles and feuds.

I don't think Punk can move ratings that much or boost PPV sales to a significant level, BUT he would continue to give AEW a strong base of main eventers and it would also continue to give them big buzz online, which is something they certainly know how to use to their advantage.

Punk would be a big get for AEW, the controversy behind him would attract attention. If they let him be raw and unrestricted in the mic and create interesting matches he's a guy that could really help them. AEW are lacking star power, they have Jericho, Omega, Moxley, other than that they are thin, in terms of people that are that well known. Punk would be a very big get in that regard. He's not someone who would have to be overused or overexposed. He could do their weekly TV but he doesn't have to wrestle every week so the schedule should be fine and he can wrestle the PPV's. With good stories he could do a lot for them.
