That audio is real, but the fact that they can't believe the same AJ Styles that called somebody a f&g on camera in early TNA said what he said is a little concerning.

I know he's used it on at least one Talking Shop episode (during a bizarre aside where he's discussing whether The Rock gets to use the word because of his mixed Black/Samoan heritage. Oddly disturbing line of thinking there...). Wouldn't surprise me if there are other documented instances given who he is and where he's from.
As for AJ's response, I find it a little suspicious that he's fingered for, at the very least, not caring about the issues facing Black people or the current protests surrounding the latest spate of deaths, and he responds with pure deflection. He says he doesn't respect Punk (not at issue) and that he's a performer whose job it is to take people's minds off the issues of the day (when your company has continually come down on the wrong side of said issues, including gaslighting an ex-wrestler into a near-breakdown very recently, that response doesn't scan well at all), neither of which actually matter in the present moment.
Dude needs to get a fukking clue and get his finger on the pulse of the nation. I said this charitably in the Seth Rollins/Becky Lynch thread, because I think they just happen to be socially awkward morons who care, but suck at properly articulating it, but I won't be so kind to AJ here. No matter who his "friends" are in the business, you get highly suspicious of such deflections after a certain point.

His entire beef with Punk was because of him sniping at Rock in interviews in 2011/12...even though that was all a work to set up the heel turn and he and Rock have cleared the air like 50 times
He does the same thing with Cena. Calls Cena a hypocrite as if everyone didn't know Cena was going to follow the Rock career path into Hollywood the whole time
