D Bry has surpassed Punk in every catergory.

I'm a Punk supporter and his promo work can be brilliant but in ring? it feels like he's a tribute cover band to the greats. He does a good cover of the japanese and submission styles but it always just seems a little off.

I'm glad they're both at the top end of the card now though.

Punk is sloppy in ring sometimes. I've never seen D-Bry have an off day.

Petty as it sounds I can't stand Bryan's voice so I'm kinda :wtb: about his promos.

Search for a Natayla botch and it damn near doesn't exist. CM Punk can't even do something that he watched growing up week to week. She's a top 5 performer in the E without question. Punk is pushed and has key opponents but he's not legitimately better than Natayla except at promos. She's MUCH more crisp in the ring. Not even remotely close.

Punk’s Promo Delivery >>> (Although D-Bry is showing everybody that he’s entertaining as hell!)

D-Bry’s Ring ability More explosive and exciting. And as said it seems he has top matches with everyone

(All in all it’s a Ken (Punk) and Ryu (D-Bry) situation

Would be interseting if Punk or both were Heels.

Bryan is head above Punk as a wrestler.

Punk is better on promos, but right now his character is so stale and bland that he has become very boring on promos. So right now I enjoy Bryan's promo work over Punk's.

Bryan is better in both ways. A lot of the moves Punk does look stupid such as his horrible elbow drop, a lot of the times his moves look sloppy. His promos are also horrible these days too because he has nothing real to say, and also uses horribly corny punch lines at times.

I think a lot of the reason he looks sloppy in the ring is because of his :flabbynsick: body type.

Bryan is great in ring and has a great promo game, best there is today.

Punk gets a lot of slack for not having a crisp moveset, but he can structure a match very well and has great ring psychology. Punk is great on the mic, but he hasn't been getting the best material imo, and his promos have been suffering because of it.

D-Bry is without question, the best wrestler in the biz, and his promos are currently the most entertaining in the game. Only thing he has a problem with is delivery, but the material he's getting has been top notch.

What does it mean to have good in-ring psychology?

Also other wrestlers that have caught my eye from a skill standpoint are Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, AJ, Chris Jericho, R-truth, Sheamus, Tyson Kidd, Justin Gabriel and Lord Tensai(while I can't stand him).

I know Sheamus gets a lot of shyt on this forum but I think he's a good wrestler for his size and can sell moves really well. What's ya'll opinion on some of these wrestlers?

I also thought growing up that Kurt Angle was not only great on the mic but amazing in the ring too.

Two of my friends are huge wrestling fans and they always argue over Brett Hart vs Shawn Michaels. Who do you guys think is better?

I'm not a big fan of being casual when it comes to sports(even fake sports), so when I'm interested in somethign I really like to be educated on what to look for when analyzing greatness and mediocrity. I had no idea Daniel Bryan waa considered by far and away to be better than Punk.

It's one of those things fans say because wrestlers say, but fans don't understand it like the wrestlers do.

From what I take from that term, is the person knows how to work the crowd into the story, and how to do something in the ring that adds to the story of the match.

But I don't pretend to know what the biz is all about, I just enjoy it.

In ring psychology is working the crowd during the match, the ability of being able to tell a story within the match. Doing things or moves in the match in a way that would seem logical, not just doing a move just for the sake of doing a move.

Sheamus gets a lot of shyt because he's been very bland as a face (which is more of bookings fault than his own), but also because he was c/s early on by HHH who is one of the IWC's most hated  ... he is a solid worker imo, he is definitely not garbage or anything, but you know how most people love to root for the underdog and Sheamus isn't one.

I also thought growing up that Kurt Angle was not only great on the mic but amazing in the ring too.

Yeah, Kurt is one of the few that was great in both, and most people on this board would agree that he is one of the best.

Both very good in the ring, you'll get a different answer depending on who you ask lol.

Bryan was always considered to be the better in ring worker, and Punk was always considered to be the better talker. Though since Punk turned face over the last year he's material been a lot more tamer/weaker than it used to be, meanwhile Bryan was given the chance to talk more and has taken the ball and ran with it, thus closing the gap in the mic skill department significantly. You can't take what everyone says here that seriously tho, internet fans (myself included) tend to prefer heels (the bad guys) over faces (the good guys) especially in an era where the faces all seem to be super cookie cutter and generic.

The way Bryan delivers his promos..makes sense. He just talks like that. Very laid back and doesn't need to overly shout. Some of the little slick shyt he be saying is funny because he's not trying to be a comedian. It's just that dry humor shyt that works sometimes.

Yep, that's what makes Bryan great.

His delivery is comedy gold, like he knows how absurd his character is, and he lives in that shyt.

"AJ he only sees you as a special referee, I see you........as a special person"

"Just think about it, you could have had....allllllll.....oooffff....thiiiissss"

He knows how to make himself extremely annoying to the base audience (kids) but yet very funny to the older fans.

Bryan is the better wrestler and always have been. In my head they're two sides of the same coin in that whenever I think of one, the other isn't far behind. Punk was the better talker and more charismatic until recently. I like Bryan saying things that are corny but the delivery is pitch perfect like "Bryan/Tryin", his delivery is best suited for that. IMO he used to have a problem w/ delivery and poor emphasis on words but his heel turn allowed him to be an exaggerated version of himself.

:stopitslime: at R=G saying Natalya is better than Punk even though she doesn't have a fraction of his body of work to judge her from. When was the last time she had a memorable matchup, feud, or promo? Other than jobbing, fart gimmicks, and asking Vince for Hart reunions like a kissass. I guess she's your wrestler of the week to discredit him over one move. :what:
